Matija Bevk (1972, Ljubljana) 1999 graduated architectural engineering from the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. Vasa J. Perović (1965, Belgrade); 1992 graduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Belgrade, 1992–94 MA from the Berlage Institute of Architecture; since 2010 Professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana. The office was founded by Matija Bevk and Vasa Perović in 1997 in Ljubljana. Awards: the 2007 Mies van der Rohe Award (for the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Ljubljana); the 2006 Kunstpreis Berlin; the 2005 Piranesi Award; 5 Plečnik Awards for best building of the year in Slovenia; the Golden Pencil Awards by the Chamber of Architects; the 2005 Prešeren Award. In the recent years they have started working internationally on a series of projects – the office complex Schrottenturm in Klagenfurt, Austria; housing in Basel, Switzerland; a private house in Prague; a faculty building for the University of Brussels, Belgium, etc. Recently, the monographic issue of El Croquis about their work titled Conditionalism has been published and a monographic issue of Japanese publication A+U came out in September 2013.
