STUDIO PLOCA, Croatia

Frane Stančić, Hana Marisa Mohar

Studio PLOCA was founded in 2022 in Zagreb by Hana Marisa Mohar and Frane Stančić as a working framework that connects architecture, design, object-making, and small-scale construction. It emerged from the eponymous workshop in Rotterdam (2019–2022), where prototypes were developed and furniture was produced. While not exclusively, the studio’s work focuses on the adaptation and conversion of existing buildings. Projects are developed through a direct engagement with materials and construction, based on the idea that design and execution are inseparable processes.

Hana Marisa Mohar (Ljubljana, 1990) graduated from TU Delft. Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions and publications, and her graduation project was nominated as a finalist for the Archiprix 2019 competition. From 2016 to 2022, she worked at KAAN Architecten in Rotterdam. Since 2024, she has been working as an assistant at the Department of Architectural Design at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb.

Frane Stančić (Rijeka, 1988) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb. From 2013 to 2022, he worked at OMA, MVRDV, and KAAN Architecten in Rotterdam. Between 2019 and 2022, within his PLOCA workshop, he developed and fabricated numerous prototypes as well as other products. He worked as a guest lecturer at TU Delft, at the Complex Projects department, teaching as part of the Making course.
